2017 Berlin

Cooperation with Belarus

Time:     13th June, 17.00 – 18.30
Venue:    Besucherzentrum 1 (Visitor Center 1)

Description:

Belarus is part of the neighbourhood of the EU-Strategy of the Baltic Sea Region. In the past there have been some cooperation projects. More recently the cooperation has somewhat slowed down. There are, however, important areas of cooperation with a large potential of benefits for all sides involved. One example is sewage treatment. In order to make progress in lowering the intake of nutrients into the Baltic Sea, a larger integration of Belarus in respective programmes could be an important step progress. Another example is university cooperation which could be further developed. It is an objective of the seminar to assess the state of the cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the EUSBSR and to exchange views on the possible way forward.
