Connecting the voice of youth for a sustainable future of the Baltic Sea region

Time:    14th June, 10.45 – 12.15
Venue:  Stresemann-Saal

Description:

Giving voice to students is crucial if we want to ensure a sustainable Baltic Sea Region. The panel will provide an arena for young people and experts to share their ideas and ambitions and co-create the future of our region. The discussions will increase the youth awareness of the EUSBSR and its cross-border cooperation; it will also promote the integration of different generations, increasing coherence of future decision-making.

Elaboration:

Agenda 2030 and SDGs have become increasingly relevant for the EUSBSR and provide an integrated and systemic framework for achieving our common macro-regional objectives. During the Annual Forum in Stockholm high level panelists expressed their plans and ambitions in relation to the SDGs, while students provided the panel with moderation and critical questions. This year we want to give Youth a stronger role in the discussions and in the definition of what should be accomplished in the Baltic Sea Region in order to achieve sustainability, in the context of the Baltic 2030 Action Plan. The goal of the panel is to represent the voice of youth. It aims at creating an environment where young people from diverse backgrounds can cross-pollinate ideas, share insights and showcase the leadership and initiatives taken by their peer-group in putting the region on a more sustainable path.
