The BSR WATER platform, led by the UBC Sustainable Cities Commission, focuses on enhancing the cross-sectoral cooperation in the smart water management sector. Building on the cooperation with seven transnational projects (IWAMA, Manure Standards, Village Waters, BEST, Reviving Baltic Resilience, iWater, CliPLivE) that have already developed replicable and unique solutions for smart water management and operation, the platform brings this knowledge to the regional policy and widely available practice (Baltic Smart Water Hub).

The BSR WATER final conference will focus on the themes of shifting the wastewater treatment operation to the resource recovery model, addressing hazardous substances in municipal and industrial wastewater stream in science and practice, and adapting cities to the climate change by the proper management of storm water systems. The event will present the platform’s achievements in exchanging practices, solutions and expertise from around the region, introduce its input into the regional policies shaped by HELCOM, and encourage to continue the cooperation further.
