What does the Flagship status mean for the newly approved projects?

The newly approved PA Safe Flagship, "Winter Navigation Motorways of the Sea II" (WINMOS II), aims to ensure safe and reliable winter traffic in a cost efficient way by further developing the winter navigation system and ensuring sufficient icebreaking capacity. It also enhances and deepens the co-operation between Estonia, Finland and Sweden in a continued spirit of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Brussels 2015 concerning a common optimal icebreaking service level and capacity for upcoming needs.
”The Flagship status of EUSBSR is important for the project as it helps to disseminate the importance of the winter navigation subject matter as it is not commonly known in Europe. The flagship status also shows that the importance of winter navigation has been recognized on a higher level.”

The objective of PA Secure Flagship "Developing an evaluation model to asses prevention measures" (EVAPREM) is to develop a universal and comprehensive model for evaluating the results of the prevention measures implemented. The aim is to deepen understanding of the effectiveness and efficiency of the prevention services considering the corresponding socio-economic environment.

The HA Climate newly approved Flagship, "iWater - Improving urban planning by developming integrated and multifunctional storm water management in the Central Baltic cities", develops guidelines and tools for Integrated Storm Water Management (ISWM) and introduces good storm water management practices into urban planning processes.
