The year 2019 is a crucial year for the Future of Europe and the Baltic Sea Cooperation as it will be marked by the European elections, the Brexit, the revision of the Action Plan of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the negotiations of the post-2020 EU Budget and policies. In light of this, high-level political representatives of EU institutions, representations of Member States and regional authorities are invited to come together and discuss the role of regions in Europe’s Future on 31 January 2019 in Lahti.

The event aims to investigate the role of regions in the Future of Europe, in the revision of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the negotiations in the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework, from various angles such as subsidiarity, multilevel governance and macroregional strategies.
