There are two projects in the Baltic Sea Region among the finalists of REGIOSTARTS Awards 2023. NonHazCity in the category "A green Europe" and EfficientFlow in "A Connected Europe". We would like to congratulate these long lasting and determined partnerships with strong ties to especially to Policy Area Hazards.

REGIOSTARS are the yearly competition organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General Regional and Urban Policies (DG REGIO) since 2008. Over the years it has become the Europe’s label of excellence for EU-funded projects, which demonstrate the impact and inclusiveness of regional development. In 2023, the jury received a record number of applications, 228 in total, and selected 30 finalists.

 

What are the next steps? There are three dates to be marked on the calendar:

• 14 September, with the start of the online public vote here on the competition platform. 

• 11 October, with the final round of project pitches happening during the EU Regions’ Week

• 16 November, with REGIOSTARS ceremony and announcement of winners happening in Ostrava, Czech Republic
